Mid–Atlantic Photo Visions (MAPV) is returning to an in-person event for 2024!

The Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday, November 2–3 as a full in–person event with speakers, workshops, photo exhibits, and vendors at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas VA. There will also be two Zoom events that will occur within the two weeks prior to the in-person event.

Passes for the event are available for purchase from the MAPV website along with the full list of speakers and schedule.

The photo competition will continue to accept entries thru September 8th in the following categories:

  • Birds
  • Wildlife
  • Macro/Close–up/Other
  • Water
  • Grand Landscapes
  • Intimate Landscapes (*new category)
  • Architecture/Agriculture/Industry
  • Abstracts/Altered Reality
  • People (Includes Documentary and Street Photography)
  • Studio Photography (Includes Studio Created Techniques and Still Life’s)
  • Sports/Action/Adventure
  • Other

Please be sure to read and understand the entry requirements and explanations of the different photography categories as images are sometimes rejected due to technical

The 2024 MAPV competition upload website opened on August 11. To be eligible, you must be a club member in good standing, i.e., having paid your membership dues. If you are a new member, please contact Jack Ledgerwood at the email for “Mid–Atlantic Photo Visions” found at Board Contacts so that an account can be created for you prior to submitting your images. To make sure you qualify, MAPV will compare our list of paid members against the submissions MAPV receives.

  • Sunday, August 11—Image upload opens for the competition
  • Sunday, September 1—Last date to submit rejected images
  • Sunday, September 8—Final deadline for image submission
  • Friday, October 4—Accepted images are announced
  • Tuesday, October 29-Last day for delivering juried prints to MAPV Rep

As a reminder, all juried images are required to be printed and matted for display and final judging. And the artist will be required to volunteer at the event.
