Cosplay Portraits
New to Nature Visions Photo Expo this year- Practice your portrait photography with members of D.C. Cosplay. Not familiar with cosplay? Then you are in for a treat. ‘Cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially ones from the Japanese genres of manga and anime.’ Participants will have the opportunity to work with people dressed in a variety of costumes in an industrial setting in the backstage area of the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
There will be five hour long sessions on Sunday, November 3rd.

Image/Portfolio Reviews
The Image/Portfolio Reviews offered at the Nature Visions Photography Expo are a great opportunity to meet with our speakers for a 20 minute, one on one review of your images. Bring your best work or images that you feel need guidance to reach their full potential. Our experienced photographic professionals will happily make suggestions to help you reach your vision. Images for review are not limited to nature and can be of any subject. You can choose the reviewer whom you think would best guide you as well as the exact meeting time. This allows you to schedule your image review so as to not miss any presentations you wish to attend. Check out the schedule to select what time works best for you.

Hands On Workshops – Raptors and Flowers
We have a couple of hands on workshops to choose from this year.
Raptors – This hands on workshop conducted by Joe will feature a 1 hour classroom session, following which the session will move outside to shoot the raptors in the wooded area. Owls and Hawks will be set up by their handlers against the backdrop of the woods. You can go as close to the raptors as allowed by their handlers.
Raptors November 2 9:15 AM
Raptors November 2 11:45 AM
Raptors November 2 2:15 PM
Flowers – Please join Patty Hankins of BeautifulFlowerPictures.com for a 2-hour hands-on session on photographing flowers. You will focus on photographing in the studio, including discussion of lighting options, photographic gear, backgrounds, finding flowers and arranging them. And then it’s time to photograph flowers.
Participants will have the opportunity to photograph several types of flowers using several types of lighting and backgrounds. It will be a wonderful way to figure out what you need for your own home studio for photographing flowers.
For this session, you will need a camera with full manual mode with a hot shoe for a flash and a tripod. A cable release/wireless remote and a macro lens will be helpful but not required. Open to all levels of photographers.
