My portfolio Chicago architectural images entitled “Looking Up” was published in the August 2019 Special Issue of Black and White Magazine. The images received an Award of Excellence. Chicago has the most spectacular architecture of any city in the world. Home of the “high rise” these structures leap upwards, stretching to a seemingly infinite point. “Looking Up” captured this view point emphasizing how the architecture leads the eye; how reflections reinforce the sense of urban verticality and how these structures visually interact with themselves.
I’m happy to also report that six of the images from this portfolio have been chosen for in the forthcoming “Seeing in Sixes” published by LensWork. Seeing in Sixes features 50 photographers chosen from several hundred entries. The publication contains a variety of topics and photographic concepts primarily in black and white. This is the second time I’ve been fortunate to be included in this book – a portfolio of musical instruments was included in the first edition. Seeing in Sixes is available by mail order direct from LensWork.
