Great ideas continue to rise within League of Reston Artists (LRA) ! So this year, 2016, is also the Centennial of our National Parks, that will be our overall theme of our annual exhibition at the June JoAnne Rose Gallery. Images of any of the special places managed by the National Parks are eligible. That includes many local sites like Great Falls, Shenandoah, Manassas, Antietam, Gettysburg battlefields, and the National Mall in DC. Of course, since we have so many LRA travelers, the list also encompasses ones like Yellowstone, Yosemite, Badlands, Everglades, Glacier, Grand Tetons, Acadia, etc.
LRA will be providing at least $1,000 for awards. This should be a very special exhibition for LRA. For this exhibition your images should have be taken within the last five years. Since the JoAnne Rose Gallery at the Lake Anne Community Center in Reston takes approximately 60 images and to accommodate as many participants as possible, this exhibit will allow two photos per submittal. Based on recent shows this one should fill up quickly, and we already have reached the 50% level, so now would be an excellent time to plan for submitting your photos of the National Park system. Non-Members may submit with higher fees or also join LRA.
