From The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust: “We were overwhelmed by the amazing entries we received for our 2019 Nearby Nature Photo Contest. More than 150 stunning photos were submitted, making the judges’ choices very difficult. So, for the second year, we will celebrate all our entrants! We welcome everyone who took part (and anyone else who likes photography) to join us on January 11th for a gallery showcase at the Reston Art Gallery. We will be displaying the beautiful submissions we received.
In addition, we are proud to announce our 2019 Nearby Nature Contest finalists. Three finalists were chosen in each of the four adult categories including awesome animals, beautiful bugs, fantastic flowers, and tremendous trees. Three finalists were also chosen in the youth division.

The photo contest, our sixth annual, closed to entries on October 31, 2019. Judging was provided by three members of the Bureau of Land Management’s Eastern States Office as well as an office member from the City of Alexandria. Prizes have been donated by Glory Days, Great American Restaurants and Meadows Farms.
Join us at the Reston Art Gallery on January 11th for a celebration of all of our entries as well as the announcement of our winners. We will also serve light refreshments. The photos will be displayed in the gallery until Martin Luther King Jr. Day (1/20/20).”
