Dear NVPS Members,
Due to the threat of contracting COVID-19, physical meetings will temporarily be replaced with virtual meetings using the popular Zoom app. Members will be invited to join the scheduled meetings, and the sessions can be viewed on desktop or laptop computers, tablets or cellphones. Zoom meeting links are sent to current members on, the morning of the Tuesday night meeting.
If you have never used Zoom Meetings before, this document should help you get started with watching and listening to NVPS virtual meetings. The process of joining a meeting is easy but will vary slightly depending on the type of device you have (i.e., PC or MAC Desktop/Laptop, iPad/iPhone, or Android tablet/phone such as Samsung or Pixel device).
Virtual meetings will be held on the same day and time as the physical meetings – Tuesday’s at 7:30 PM (except for competitions which will start at 7:15 PM). Members will be sent via eblast (email), an invitation in advance of each meeting that will contain the meeting link and ID number. Clicking on that link will take you to the scheduled meeting. First-time Zoom users will need to click on “download and run Zoom“ to install the app. Keep the meeting ID number handy in case you need to rejoin the meeting.
If you are a first-time user, sign-in well in advance of the meeting so you have time to download the Zoom app and follow the instructions below and fix any issues.
Tablet and cell phone users should download the app “Zoom Cloud Meetings” from the Apple App store (or Google Play for Android devices). Start the Zoom app, enter the Meeting ID number and click “Join Meeting” or, go back to the email link and click on it again once the app is installed.
Notes: 1) You don’t need to create a Zoom account to join a meeting; 2) If you’re not hearing sound after the meeting has started, check your speaker volume.
