I am fascinated by the intersection of traditional and modern–people who seek to maintain a vibrant cultural heritage while at the same time desiring the benefits of the global economy.  In. many places in the world, the strength of traditional values is demonstrated in historical and contemporary religious structures, often the highest and best artistic expressions of a culture. But beneath the specific characteristics of any society lie our common human goals: personal happiness, family stability, and a sense of purpose and meaning in life.
