Georgette’s journey in photography began 15 years ago when her granddaughter, Ava, was born. Not capturing the cute smiles that she wanted, Georgette switched from a point’n shoot to a DSLR (Nikon D80) and took classes at Fairfax County Adult Ed with John Gonsalves. Eventually the relationship of aperture, shutter speed, and exposure fell into place. John instructed her class to tell a story; fill the frame! She hears his voice whenever she has a camera (or cell phone) in hand!!

Georgette captures moments that she wants to remember. Her subjects include abstracts, people, places, and nature, but her favorite subject is flowers–close-ups and macros. Currently, she is photographing with a mirrorless Fuji X-T3.
Georgette personally believes that part of photography is sharing your work with others:
- at camera club meetings
- at competitions
- at exhibits
- in publications
- on social media
- on your own website
In this meeting, she will explore How to Get Your Work Out There.
