Member’s Forum: (In-Person) The Beauty of Still Life with Catherine Wang

While practicing still life photography, Catherine has come to appreciate its unique beauty. In her presentation she will share lessons learned from her still life photography, such as how to understand and utilize light sources, how to compose a shot effectively, and how to arrange colors within the frame.

Bio

Catherine Wang has been living and working in Virginia for more than 20 years, serving as a senior software engineer in local government. Her journey into photography began in 2016. When she began working from home due to the pandemic in 2020, she found that it provided her with some spare time to delve deeper into the art of photography.

Her passion for photography started with still lifes and then took flight as she expanded her focus to include portraits, architecture, and dance themes. She has participated in several top–notch photography competitions internationally and has been honored to receive awards.
