September 29 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Biographical Statement:
Judy Guenther joined NVPS in the fall of 2015. She is an avid travel photographer who loves the process of photography from the capture to post-processing. She enjoys a variety of photographic subjects during her travels and is particularly drawn to architecture.
Judy is a member of the Art League in Alexandria and the Maryland Federation of Art. Her work has been juried into shows across the country, published in various journals, and received awards including grand prize in The Washington Post 2022 Travel Photography Contest and Honorable Mention in the 2023 Contest.
Her Member’s Gallery will include images taken in Spring 2024 and Autumn 2025 in Japan. Her spring cherry blossom photo tour was a smorgasbord of locations, traditional Japanese history, landscapes, snow monkeys, Samurai sword manufacturing, big cities, and Sumo wrestlers.
Judy returned to Japan last autumn with husband, Wayne, who was visiting Japan for the first time. The trip was divided into exploring Japan’s country and culture, followed by an “Essence of Autumn” small group photo tour to capture gorgeous fall colors and landscapes. Her Member’s Gallery digital presentation will feature images from both trips.
