Member’s Gallery (Virtual): (In Person) The Places I Visited in 2024 with Kieulan Nguyen
February 24, 2026 @ 7:45 pm – 8:00 pm
Bio
Kieulan Nguyen has been a photographer for a long time, and her work consists of macro, landscapes, travel, street photography and black & white photography. Her approach to photography is using her camera to find beauty in the things and people around her. She uses different techniques such as high key, intentional camera movement (ICM), long exposures, and multiple exposures. Currently, she is working on a black and white project and hopes to be able to present it to NVPS in the next year or so.
At the end of December of 2021 Kieulan retired from government and became a full-time photographer and digital artist. She now enjoys travelling to different countries with her family and friends to capture the beautiful landscapes as well as people’s lives and interactions via street photography.
Description
In this presentation, Kieulan would like to show the lives of many Cubans who still live as in the 1950s. She will also show the beautiful street art from places she’s been in Chile; the bustling life in La Paz, Bolivia; and the unforgettable grand landscape of the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia.
Kieulan lives in Virginia and also volunteers with The Vietnamese Photographic Society of Northern Virginia, with which she’s been involved for the last ten years. It has been a wonderful experience for her, because she likes to give back to the Vietnamese community through teaching and encouraging others to learn the art of photography.
