November 18-19: US Botanic Gardens (Self-guided) The United States Botanic Garden (USBG) is one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America. This close-in Garden highlights the diversity of plants from around the world. Their website is: http://www.usbg.gov/. Tripods are allowed by permit during weekdays http://www.usbg.gov/your-visit/upload/PHOTO-pol%20032106.pdf which is why this activity is listed for both a Friday and a Saturday. You can obtain a permit for Friday by calling 202-225-8333. The Garden is open from 10 am to 5 pm -- take Metro to Federal Center SW, which is the closest Metro stop.
