Field Trips
January 8th, 2011 - Field Trip : The Dulles Air & Space Museum
The Dulles Air and Space Museum, officially named the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, is next to Dulles International Airport.   This facility provides space for the Smithsonian to display the thousands of aviation and space artifacts that cannot be exhibited at the National Air and Space Museum on the Mall.

Visitors can walk among aircraft and small artifacts in display cases located on the floor, and view aircraft hanging from the arched ceiling on elevated skywalks. Many engines, from experimental flying machines to spacecraft are on display. Use a wide angle lens to capture the large aircraft, or use a 200-300 mm lens to get tight shots on a specific section of an aircraft.

Please know that tripods are frowned upon, but monopods are welcomed.  The admission is free, but the parking is $15.  If you are interested in splitting the parking fee, please meet at Ellanor C. Lawrence Soccer Field parking lot at 9:00 a.m..  This will provide time to shoot outside the facility.
