As the club year begins it is time once again to announce the Portfolio Project, a nine month exploration of a photographic theme starting in September 2014 and running to mid May 2015. All club members of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

As a learning experience doing a portfolio is invaluable. You will choose a theme, craft an artist statement, capture the images and then present them to the club as a finished portfolio. Your portfolio may include some images already taken, but it’s a good idea to enhance the learning experience by including primarily new images taken over the program year.

This project presents an excellent opportunity to create a collection of your best images that exemplify the objectives of the theme you choose and your Artist’s Statement. These should be images you would be proud to share with others for years to come.

This year’s co-chairs for the project are Ginger Werz-Petricka and Ceasar Sharper, available through portfolio@nvps.org , and on September 30 during the E&T meeting they will be showing a presentation on the steps for creating a portfolio and will be available for questions.
