Education & Training: (In-Person) Long Exposure Photography with Kimxuan Nguyen

According to Wikipedia:  Long-exposure, time-exposure, or slow-shutter photography involves using a long-duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of images while blurring, smearing, or obscuring the moving elements. Kimxuan will also go over the technique on how to capture fireworks in a creative way by using the Long Exposure method.

Bio

Kimxuan studied photography in college when the photography world was still using film and darkroom to process photos. Fast forward, Kimxuan joined NVPS in 2019. She had received several Monthly Competition and Year End awards. Some of the awards were Advanced Color Print of the Year, Advanced Color Digital Image of the Years (2021 and 2022), Advanced Monochrome Digital Image of the Year, Photographer of the Year – Color Digital Advanced, Photographer of the Year – Versatile Advanced, and Ollie Fite Awards (2021 and 2024).

Currently, Kimxuan is the Lead Instructor for Advanced Level class and an Assistant to the President of the Vietnamese Photography Society (VNPS). She wrote and contributed photography lessons as well as lessons on portfolio projects. She also served as part of the judging panels for VNPS. In addition, Kimxuan has received the Portfolio Project of the Year and Honorable Excellent Service from the society. 

Kimxuan likes to travel within the United States as well as the world to capture mostly landscaping and wildlife.
