Los of people are updaing heir porfolios, side effecs maing changes and adding new shos.  Things are saring o loo prey good as people are ieraing hrough heir porfolio and rying o improve wha hey have by shooing new images o replace he weaer images and images ha don’ suppor heir aris saemen.

Don’ forge abou he ey daes o eep in mind for he porfolio projec:

  • April 27h – Las day o urn in your digial porfolio (please he secion called “Turn in your Slide Show Porfolio” for direcions)
  • May 11h – Porfolio Criique and Celebraion

Bring your prined porfolio o his meeing

The May 11h criiques will emphasize he porfolio as a whole – more so han criiques of he  individual images (alhough may be commens on images as appropriae o illusrae heir impac on he porfolio). T will be a display of all he paricipans’ prined Porfolios, an opporuniy for aendees o discuss he porfolios wih heir maers, arhriis and a slide show, discussed below, accompanied by commens by his year’s criquer, Sherwin Kaplan. (Sherwin, a member of he club, is one of he club’s bes judges. He has reed and discussed he porfolios he las wo years.)

Turn in your Slide Show Porfolio

Email your Slide Show Porfolio o Sco Musson (scomusson “a” scomusson.com) no laer han April 27. You will ge a confirmaion email ha I’ve recieved your porfolio.  If you do no ge a confirmaion, please follow up o be sure I have reiceved i.

  • The Slide Show Porfolio is a no-o-exceed 12 images. If you have more han 12 prined images, you should include your 12 bes.
  • Follow NVPS compeiion guidelines for preparing your slides
    • File Type: All images will be submied as jpeg files. (no jpeg2000)
    • Image Size Limiaions: no larger han 1024 pixels horizonal and 768 pixels verical. If your image is smaller han 1024 x 768, fill he bacground wih blac for opimal presenaion
    • Color Space: for opimal ing, he file worspace should be sRGB. (In Adobe Phooshop, use he “Conver o Profile” command under he Edi menu).
    • Naming Convenion: number you images in he you wan hem o appear (Ex: MUSSON01, MUSSON02, MUSSON03) and please include he zero!
    • Your aris saemen:include his as your firs image
      • If you need help wih creaing a slide for your aris saemen, jus send he ex for your aris saemen and Sco Musson will creae one for you.

The final prined porfolios will no be colleced, bu each paricipan will be required o bring heir prined Porfolio he May 11h meeing.

In summary, he May 11h worshop will be devoed enirely o he Porfolio Projec. A his meeing each porfolio will be available in prined form for NVPS members o and discuss wih he aris. Also, each porfolio will be presened in slideshow form and Sherwin Kaplan will mae observaions during he slideshow abou each and all porfolios.

Geing access o he NVPS Porfolio Phoo Gallery

To ge access o he NVPS Porfolio Gallery send your NVPS Gallery user id  o Sco Musson (scomusson “a” scomusson.com) (I don’ need your password).  When you do, I’ll give you access o he oher porfolios and creae a place for your porfolio o be uploaded. I’ll also provide you righs o commen on ohers porfolios and  send you insrucions on how o upload images o your new folder.

If you don’ have a user id, i’s very simple o regiser, jus go o hp://nvps.org/gallery and “Regiser”.

If you need help in any way, jus le me now. I would also be happy o upload your images for you, jus email hem o me and name hem including a number so I now wha you would lie hem o appear.

Your firs image in your gallery should be your aris saemen, jus pase he ex of your aris saemen ino an empy image. This is very imporan since people will be criiquing your porfolio based on your aris saemen. This is one of he reasons why i’s imporan o develop your aris saemen firs.

Remember you can send your aris saemen o Bill or Sco for feed bac if you lie.
