In this presentation, Joseph Rossbach will present one image only and take us on a deep dive into the production of the image. From planning and travel to scouting on location, Joe will discuss how he found a shot like this, what it takes to get there and how you can use tools like the Photographers Ephemeris and google maps to help you be in the right place at the right time.
Then Joe will discuss what he did in the field to achieve the best composition, light and selection of equipment to make the image. The shot he will be presenting required focus stacking to achieve an angle of view not available through traditional means. Joe will walk you through the process of how to properly focus stack the image in camera.
After we get the shot, we will be discussing processing in both Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Joe will explain how he preps the images in the raw convert, making changes to exposure, color and sharpening, before bringing the images into Photoshop to the focus stack the image. Also in Photoshop, Joe will talk about how he uses luminosity masks and a variety of techniques including dodging and burning, painting with light and filters to polish the image to perfection.
