Steve Gottlieb's photography ranges from architecture to people to landscapes. Literally thousands of his images have been published worldwide in magazines, advertisements, brochures and annual reports. His commercial work has been recognized with numerous awards, such as "Advertising Photograph of the Year" in both NYC and Washington, DC. He was designated as one of a half-dozen "Kodak Professional Icons" in the U.S., and has been a past judge for NVPS.

Steve is best known as the photographer (as well as author and designer) of six books including American Icons, Washington: Portrait of a City and Abandoned America. A sampling of the recognition his books have received:

Steve is founder and director of Horizon Photography Workshops. He (and other Horizon instructors) lead weekend workshops at the Chesapeake City, MD headquarters, as well as many other locations (NYC, Boston, DC, etc.). www.horizonworkshops.com. Steve leads workshops in the following subjects: "Creative Vision," "Flash Magic," "Photographing Real People in Real Places," "Architecture," "Creating a Photo Book," and "Photographing Washington, DC." Steve is a graduate of Columbia College and Law School. He practiced law for a decade before turning his photography hobby into his vocation.
