NVPS Portfolio Project Update
Thanks to all of you who participated in yesterday's portfolio critique, it was a nice event and I enjoyed seeing everyones images. Joe Miller provided insiteful and educational comments and feedback. We sinserly appreciate Joe's time, and him sharing his facility and expertise with the participants. As a reminder Joe mentioned the the
George Eastman House is advertizing their sixth sale of a portfolio by
international photographers. We believe you will find the portfolio interesting
http://www.eastmanhouse.org/portfolio. For those of you who couldn't attend, no worries. We'll be starting up commenting on the online portfolios as new images are uploaded and portfolios are updated. There will be another portfolio event comging up at the end of March and we'll be publishing information on this shortly. So What's Next? As always you should try shooting more to see if you can improve and focus your portfolio. Review your artist statement and be sure that it's consistant with your portfolio, you can always make changes to this to keep it synchronized with your images. Upload your images to the website, comment on others work and crtique your own work again and again. We'll have more information on the March event shortly and we'll be publishing the final dates and logistics for turning in your portfolio for the final critique. I would also be happy to upload your images for you, just email them to me and name them including a number so I know what order you would like them to appear. You should first image in your gallery should be your artist statement, just paste the text of your artist statement into an empty image. This is very important since people will be critiquing your portfolio based on your artist statement. This is one of the reasons why it's important to develop your artist statement first. Remember you can send your artist statement to Bill or Scott for feed back if you like. Useful links
