Competition Themes, 2008-2009 [each will have a 2-year time limit].  Exact dates for each theme will be announced before the start of the 2008-2009 club year in September 2008.

Oct 21st, 2008 - Silhouettes

Images may show rim lighting, but by definition, silhouettes do not
show any detail. May include any subject where the predominate images
are in silhouette, usually achieved through backlighting.

Jan 20th, 2009 - Rhythm

Rhythm is more than repetition. Rhythm is harmonious pattern
characterized by the regular or predictable recurrence of strong and
weak elements, usually lines and shapes. In rhythm, there exists some
directional movement in the repetition, such as, undulating sand
dunes, rolling hills, winding pathways and rushing water.
Rhythm is soothing and our eyes beg to follow rhythmic patterns.
Rhythm brings both order and a sense of dynamic to a photograph,
just as it does to a musical piece.

Apr 21st, 2009 - Architecture / Cityscape.

Capture the artistic essence of manmade structure[s]. Strive to
photograph the scene in an unusual manner and/or from a unique
perspective.
