Canceled due to weather - Theme will be moved to February

On Tuesday January 18th, our competition judges will be Mollie Isaacs and Mary Lindhjem.  The theme for the January Competition is "Through Doors, Out Windows". This theme is defined as "images with a view through doors or windows, looking out or in. The window(s) or door(s) may be the subject themselves, or a framing device for some other scene."

Note: Image capture must have occurred after Jan 17th, 2009 to be eligible for this competition.

On competition night, please plan to join us and Mollie and Mary for dinner at Chili's at 5:30 prior to the competition. 

Both Mollie Isaacs and Mary Lindhjem are experienced photographers and trained educators.  They combined forces to create Awake The Light Photo Tours and Workshops,  www.awakethelight.com     Their teaching styles infuse a gentle blend of humor and patience.  Their desire is to teach and inform, enlighten and entertain, as well as enable participants to photograph the infinite variety and beauty found in the natural world.  

Mollie Isaacs is a professional photographer who specializes in nature and macro photography, as well as portraiture of children and families.  She has photographed many famous faces including Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, and actress Meryl Streep, and has studied with Ansel Adams, Joyce Tenneson, and others.   She has won the "Oscar" of photography, the Kodak Gallery Award, fourteen times.  Her work is in the Permanent Collection of the International Photography Hall of Fame, and has been exhibited at Epcot Center in Disney World.

Mary Lindhjem is a professional free-lance photographer who specializes in nature and wildlife photography.  Her travels have taken her to Africa, Alaska, Costa Rica, and Europe.  She has taught photography at the college level, and has taught Photoshop and Lightroom to a variety of individuals and groups in England, Costa Rica, Montana, California, North Carolina and Virginia.  Her fine art photography has been shown in several galleries, and her images have been published in several books and magazines.
