NVPS members are invited to attend Loudoun Photo Club’s Speaker Night, Thursday, Nov. 12, 7:00 PM, to hear John Barclay’s presentation, “Discovery & the Creative Process.”  Here’s John’s description of this event —
This program comes from my observation of those whom I photograph with or teach in a workshop who struggle to discover worthy images.  As with all of my programs, it is also autobiographical in that I have the same struggles. These struggles come from FUD, or fears, uncertainty, and doubts. Once we encounter FUD, it becomes very difficult to find something to photograph that makes our heart sing. The intent of this program is to address that FUD and suggest some ideas as to how we can overcome it.  I will share concepts and ideas along with images that will build confidence in anyone who is creating images.  At the end of the presentation, I will show six “discoveries” that I have encountered in an effort to cement the concepts discussed.
