Jim McDermott\u2019s photography draws from travel and from our beautiful \u201cDMV\u201d region. Some of the photographs come from trips to Alaska\u2019s Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park and New Mexico\u2019s White Sands National Park and Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim McDermott is this year\u2019s Education and Training coordinator for NVPS. Trained as an economist, he finds the trade-offs among shutter speed, aperture, and ISO intuitively sensible. He particularly enjoys wildlife photography, although he enjoys just about any opportunity to practice his craft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He credits NVPS and many friends in the club with challenging him to become a better photographer. At NVPS, he\u2019s helped coordinate field trips and served as Program VP. He also worked to arrange speakers for Nature Visions, prior to it becoming Mid-Atlantic Photo Visions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
