We would like to supply a list of the members who will attend and ask you to email the field-trip coordinators (contact information can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/board-contacts-2021-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Board Contacts)\u00a0<\/a>by Thursday, September 16, 2021 if you will attend.<br \/><br \/><strong>UPDATE (9\/7\/21)<\/strong>: The Drift Nirvana event has been moved to another date but there will\u00a0still be an exciting motorcycle event on September 19. The Porsche Club of\u00a0America event will also take place and, although private, can apparently be seen\u00a0through the gate.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22029\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22029\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22029 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Kevin_Egan-Learning-to-Fly-sig.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22029\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Credit: Kevin Egan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Brush up on your panning skills and get ready for some high speed fun!\u00a0 We\u2019re heading to Summit Point Motorsports Park for some car and motorcycle action.\u00a0 Summit Point has three tracks and there will be events on all three: (1) Drift Nirvana 2.0, in which cars \u201cdrift,\u201d or skid, leaving smoke in their wakes; (2) a motorcycle event; and (3) a Porsche Club of America event.\u00a0 This will be a chance to get the cars and motorcycles in focus with a nice background blur or get some nice motion blur on the vehicles.\u00a0 We should also be able to get close-ups of cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Summit Point Motorsports Park is a road racing and driver training facility located in Summit Point, WV.\u00a0 It is about a 1.25 hour drive from Merrifield, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>The events are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summit Point Circuit: Porsche Club of America Potomac \u2013 Rock the Summit (private)<\/li>\n<li>Potomac Pad:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Drift Nirvana \u2013 Team V2.0<\/li>\n<li>Shenandoah Circuit:\u00a0 Evolve GT Track Days (motorcycles)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Equipment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any lens between 24-200mm will satisfy most needs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Tripods can be used but are not necessary<\/li>\n<li>Bring water, snacks and sunscreen (there are restrooms and a snack bar)<\/li>\n<li>A travel chair can be used since no one is permitted on the bleachers<\/li>\n<li><strong>*A reflective vest is required<\/strong> and we must supply our own.\u00a0 They can be purchased from Amazon for $13<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Waivers will need to be signed in order to be on the grounds<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Summit_Point_Drift_Nirvana.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-22030 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Summit_Point_Drift_Nirvana-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Summit_Point_Drift_Nirvana-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Summit_Point_Drift_Nirvana.jpg 544w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>When:<\/strong><br \/>Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 8:30 am \u2013 12 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Events normally run from 9 a.m. to 12 or 1 p.m., but there may be an afternoon session so you may opt to stay for the day.\u00a0 The Shenandoah Circuit is subject to a \u201cquiet hour\u201d for church from 11 a.m. \u2013 noon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Drift Nirvana fee is $10\/spectator.\u00a0 There is usually no charge for the motorcycle event and the Porsche event is private (and no charge), but you can see it from outside the gate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong><br \/>We&#8217;ll meet in the parking lot of the red building just beyond the entrance to the park at 8:30 a.m. so we can be positioned for the 9 a.m. start times.\u00a0 There appear to be two entrances on Motorsports Park Circle.
