Nicol specializes in portrait photography with an approach that balances authenticity in studio craft with a refined finishing style to bring out and preserve the beauty of the subject&#8217;s character.<\/p>\n<p>Her photographs have been published in the Photographer\u2019s Forum Best of Photography Annual, The Journal of the Royal Photographic Society, and numerous exhibition books. She has exhibited work at the National Geographic Museum and galleries in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>She is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), a Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society (LRPS), and a Professional Member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).<\/p>\n<p>Nicol serves as a volunteer event photographer with the American Heart Association at Hearts Delight Wine Tasting and Auction and as a camera club judge.<\/p>\n<p>She lives in Loudoun County with her husband and two children, Lucy and Leo, and loves to visit nearby wineries, farms, and historic places.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicolhockett.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.nicolhockett.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Competition Theme: Oldies:\u00a0Three-year time limit is waived. &nbsp; Nicol Hockett will be our May judge for an open competition.
