Josh Taylor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Josh Taylor who lives in Arlington, VA is a garden photographer. He has presented photography workshops at the Smithsonian National Orchid Show, U.S. National Arboretum, U.S. Botanic Garden, Brookside Gardens, Sarah P. Duke Gardens, American Horticultural Society Garden School, Adkins Arboretum, and Longwood Gardens. In addition to teaching in the Smithsonian Studio Arts Program and a Canon Camera instructor at Ace Photo, Josh speaks at camera and garden clubs, judges photographic competitions, and exhibits his photographs in gallery shows. He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, Garden Writers Association, and National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and a member and past president of the Northern Virginia Photographic Society. Josh was voted best garden club speaker in 2005 and was a judge for the 2009 Garden Writers Association National Media Awards and the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Nature Photography Expo.<\/p>\n

Biography<\/h1>\n

\"\"Don first picked up a camera in his teenage years, shooting mostly black and white film and doing his own darkroom work. His interests shifted to color film in his early twenties, then he did the unexpected: he quit photography. There were a variety of reasons for this decision, but when he looks back he thinks he was lacking a certain maturity that was necessary to move forward in regard to the quality of his work. With the advent of Digital Photography he started shooting again with a passion that was been missing in earlier years. \u00a0Today he is drawn to a variety of work, but he considers landscape photography to be the core of his work. Being outside and often in remote locations gives him an appreciation for our natural world.
\nIt is his hope that his images bring others to that same level of appreciation. \u00a0\u00a0Today he shoots with everything from the iPhone, to high end DSLR\u2019s and Infrared. But he does not consider the camera that important, as it is just a tool to accomplish the photographer\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n

Don is the presentation manager for the Nature Visions Photography Expo. \u00a0Don is a former member of the Manassas Warrenton Camera Club and Co-Owner of Road Runner Photography Tours.<\/p>\n

Urban Exploration is a very popular activity, but it can be difficult to do legally. We will explore the risks and pitfalls of this type of photography as well as discuss how you can safely and legally add this type of photography to your portfolio. \u00a0\u00a0We will also explore why photographers are drawn to decrepitude and how to shoot this type of environment and get the results you desire.<\/p>\n
