The Distinguished Service Award was established in 2010 to honor\u00a0volunteers who make significant contributions of service to NVPS.\u00a0Awardees are selected by the current President. This year\u00a03 individuals were selected by NVPS President Georgette Grossman that she felt were deserving of the Distinguished Service Award.<\/p>\n

Willa Friedman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Willa has served on\u00a0many Board positions for NVPS. Beyond that she is among the first to volunteer to help the\u00a0organization:<\/p>\n

She was at the banquet to help set up the print display<\/p>\n

She has provided many educational programs. My favorite\u00a0was her B\/W presentation where she shared her personal\u00a0tips and tricks for creating spectacular B\/W images.<\/p>\n

She has served as an advisor at the Ask Me a Question table\u00a0and is always there to help fellow members solve their\u00a0photographic problems.<\/p>\n

Willa, thank you for your Distinguished Service\u00a0to NVPS.<\/p>\n

Bob Friedman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Bob Friedman<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bob, too, has served in many Board positions for\u00a0NVPS. Like Willa, he is among the first to volunteer to help the\u00a0organization. I think it runs in the family!!<\/p>\n

Bob headed a multi-week self-improvement field trip to\u00a0Green Spring Park. It explored visual design topics from the\u00a0Freeman Patterson book Photographing the World Around\u00a0You.<\/p>\n

He implemented the switch to the Keurig coffee system for\u00a0our weekly meetings.<\/p>\n

He, too, has served as an advisor at the Ask Me a Question\u00a0table, helping new photographers solve their \u201cgotcha\u201d\u00a0questions.<\/p>\n

Bob, thank you for your Distinguished Service\u00a0to NVPS.<\/p>\n

Where would NVPS be without Jeff?<\/p>\n

As he does in our monthly competitions, was at the banquet\u00a0running our projector so we can see our digital award-winning images.<\/p>\n

At every NVPS meeting Jeff provides quick visual\u00a0reinforcement of whatever a speaker is saying. He ads\u00a0humor to our meetings (where are the exits???)<\/p>\n

He never gets rattled when thing go wrong but rather\u00a0focuses on a solution.<\/p>\n

President Georgette Grossman\u00a0call him “my Magic Man!”<\/p>\n
