On January 23, one of Kirk Johnson’s photographs, titled “Dragonfly taking a breather” was selected as Photo of the Day on the Shutterbug.com \u00a0website The article accompanying the photo says:<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s\u00a0Shutterbug Photo of the Day\u00a0is wonderful close-up of a dragonfly by Kirk Johnson. \u00a0Johnson captured the image with a Nikon D3100 and 55-300 mm lens at the 300 mm focal length, 1\/160 sec, f\/5.6, ISO 400.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe dragonfly is taking a \u2018breather\u2019 from a very busy day moving from plant, to twig, to flower,\u201d Johnson writes. \u201cWas having some difficulty photographing these elusive creatures with my macro lens, so I decided to \u2018shoot\u2019 the dragon fly from a distance. Seemed to work out quite well.”<\/p>\n
