Our Speaker for December\u00a0(4th)\u00a0is Mollie Isaacs of ‘Awake the Light. \u00a0Her presentation will focus on Abstract Photography.<\/p>\n

Want to feel free and more artistic with your photography?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAbstracts can provide that and more. There are no rigid rules and no\u00a0restrictions, allowing you complete freedom in what you create and how you create it.\u00a0Abstracts are images using a combination of shape, line, color, and\u00a0texture to create unique and compelling images. You can find abstract\u00a0subjects anywhere from your kitchen sink to the wide world around us.\u00a0Almost anything can become the makings of an abstract image. This\u00a0program will show Before and After examples of how to find subjects\u00a0and how to use them for visually appealing images. You will learn the\u00a0finer points of composition, and how to use them for strong and\u00a0beautiful images. This program will jump start your creativity and\u00a0motivate you to open new doors for your own photography.<\/p>\n

Mollie has been a professional photographer and experienced teacher for over thirty years. \u00a0Her specialties include nature and macro, as well as portraits of children and families. \u00a0She has studied with Ansel Adams and Joyce Tenneson, as well as\u00a0others.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mollie’s photography career has taken her to many different places and allowed\u00a0her to meet many notables and dignitaries. \u00a0She has photographed many famous faces, including those of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, actress Meryl Streep, actor Gary Busey and former Virginia Governor L. Douglas Wilder.<\/p>\n

Molly is a 15 time winner of the prestigious Kodak Gallery Award, considered by many to be the “Oscar” of photography. \u00a0Her work is displayed as part of the Permanent Collection of the International Photography Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

Mollie enjoys traveling and teaching, and has led workshops to many interesting places.<\/p>\n
