“The Beauty and Challenge of Landscape Photography”<\/p>\n
Alan will discuss why, after over 40 years doing photography, he has
\ngravitated to and specializes in landscape photography. He will discuss the\u00a0equipment he uses, but more importantly, what he looks for in a particularlocation to try to capture that elusive “great photograph.” Pre-planning is\u00a0always a major part of landscape photography, and Alan will discuss all the\u00a0variables that should be considered, and then, how to deal with the\u00a0unpredicted events that always occur. For a landscape photographer, more\u00a0important than the scene that is being photographed, is the light on the\u00a0scene being photographed. He will use many examples throughout his
\npresentation to demonstrate this critical element, as well as other\u00a0important topics like composition, aspect ratio, mood and emotion, all of\u00a0which can help make what might be an ordinary photograph, extraordinary.<\/p>\n
Alan Sislen, who lives in Bethesda, Maryland, has been an avid photographer for more than 40 years.\u00a0 Landscape photography is his passion and he has photographed in the United States, France, Iceland, Italy, Canada, England, Chile, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and New Zealand.\u00a0 Alan is a well-recognized photography educator and speaker.<\/p>\n
