Richard Distlerath<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Starting in grade school with a science project to build a pinhole camera, Richard\u2019s photography endeavors cascaded into a full darkroom where he developed and printed black & white images as well as processed color slides. Photography became lean during his New Jersey working years, after which the digital age brought about a whole new learning curve. Richard credits Ralph Lee Hopkins from Nat Geo as his first mentor in the digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Richard and his wife Linda have traveled the world to see the beauty of wildlife and of nature itself.\u00a0His slideshow depicts big cats, birds, class D killer whales, the narwhal, and other species in the Arctic and Antarctic, Africa, Iceland, and North and South America.\u00a0Some of his images show a pair of animals displaying typical behavior, some present portraits.\u00a0All are shown in their natural environment, as Richards enjoys photographing wildlife perfectly adapted to its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
