Join us for heir presenaions immediaely followed by Ocober&#8217;s Forum presenaion.<\/p>\n<p>The following are he biographies of he members presening on Ocober 26h:<\/p>\n<p><srong>Susan Breen<\/srong><\/p>\n<p>Susan is an independen aris from Ashburn and a residen of Norhern Virginia since 1988. She has been involved in phoography since 2000 and a member of NVPS since 2004. During his ime, she has won numerous awards for her fine ar phoographs and was named &#8220;Phoographer of he Year&#8221; by NVPS for 2009-2010.<\/p>\n<p>Her phoographs are regularly displayed a he Hermiage Gallery in McLean and have been showd a he Ialian Sore in Behesda, he Color Wheel in McLean, Damon Galleries, Ar Masers Gallery in Vienna and he gif shop of a governmenal agency. Many of her phoographs have sold o privae, corporae and governmenal cliens.<\/p>\n<p>Susan enjoys creaing digial painings from her phoographs. Since adoping her dog, Heidi, in April 2010, she added pe phoography o her porfolio and creaing digial painings from he phoographs aen of our &#8220;furry friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To creae her images, Susan uses a Nion D90 and favors using her 18-200mm lens. She prefers low ligh and long exposure phoography and using very ligh phoo equipmen.<\/p>\n<p>Susan has recenly reired from federal governmen service. She has hree married daughers and five grandchildren. Her fuure plans are o, hopefully, expand her pe phoo painings ino a business.<\/p>\n<p><srong>Marilyn Gaizband<\/srong><\/p>\n<p>Marilyn&#8217;s ineres in phoography began a age 30 when her siser gave Marilyn her firs 35mm camera. She hen sudied a he Corcoran School of Ar w she specialized in blac and whie phoography. Here she developed a mehod for using infra red film o produce images which looed lie impressionisic poinillism. Over he nex en years, Marilyn&#8217;s wor appeared in several fine ar phoography shows hroughou he Washingon area.<\/p>\n<p>As lovers of he oudoors and naure, Marilyn and her husband, Sam, go heir firs ase of birding on a rip o Maine abou 12 years ago. From he sar, hey were hooed. Phoography combined wih echnology was a naural fi for hem and heir ineres mushroomed. Over he las decade, hey have raveled hroughou he U.S. and abroad. The wo have been o Churchill, Canada o phoograph polar bears; Kenya, Africa on a phoographic safari; he Falland Islands o phoograph penguins and oher birds; Cosa Rica o phoograph exoic birds; and o Argenina and Brazil. In a hun for new naure subjecs, hey have ed numerous Naional Pars and Naional Wildlife Refuges in he U.S. As well, Marilyn has been o Alasa and New Mexico several imes.<\/p>\n<p>Marilyn has recenly used her experise in Phooshop o explore new graphic and design ideas for her images. A few years ago, while driving home, she had a vision of many, many eyes layered on one anoher looing a her. When she go home, she creaed he firs Kaleidimal.<\/p>\n<p>The couple became members of he Norhern Virginia Phoographic Sociey in 2003. Marilyn was Co-Vice Presiden for Compeiions during he 2004-2005 season and Field Trip Coordinaor during he 2009-2010 season.<\/p>\n<p>Marilyn&#8217;s digial slide show has hree secions. The firs consiss of &#8220;sraigh&#8221; bird porrais. The second secion is of &#8220;arsy&#8221; phoographs using slow shuer speeds o creae ineresing blurred images.
