Member\u2019s Forum: Africa \u2013 November 2019 trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe with Kirk Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b> <a href=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Self-portrait-bW-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17410 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/nvps.org\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Self-portrait-bW-copy-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\"><\/a> Africa<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Kirk Johnson Biography<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since joining NVPS in August 2012, Kirk Johnson has been taking digital photographs of a variety of subjects, such as architecture, animal, street and urban, portrait, black-and-white, floral and abstract.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Utilizing the Nikon D7100 DSLR and LG G7 smartphone as well as a variety of post-processing tools (Photoshop CS6, NIK Collections, Topaz Studio, Portrait Professional 18, and Photomatix), Kirk has been recognized internationally, nationally, and locally with a variety of photographic awards including: 2017 International Fine Arts Photography Award (FAPA) &#8211; Nominee Award for Abstract photography; the 2014 Great American Country&nbsp; (GAC) &#8211; Hunt for Americana Photo Contest &#8211; United States Southern Region Finalist; numerous NVPS monthly competition awards.&nbsp; Additionally, his photographs have appeared in Bliss Magazine and twice in Shutterbug.com \u201cPhoto of the Day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kirk, who retired from the U.S. Navy in 1999 as a Lieutenant Commander, currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife Leslie.&nbsp;&nbsp;
