Based on the field trip survey last year, many members prefer one day trips to nearby locations. So the February field trip will take advantage of one of the most beautiful floral gardens in the United States. The U.S. Botanic Garden is located at 100 Maryland Avenue, SW, in DC. Their website is www.usbg.gov. Those wishing to carpool can meet at the fire house at 9:15AM. The garden opens at 10AM. If you wish to take Metro, the Orange or Blue line will take you to the Federal Center SW station. We can meet at the entrance to USBG at 10AM. Admission is free. Tripods are not allowed except by permit. Those wishing to share lunch and lies can meet at the cafeteria in the Museum of the American Indian, just west of the garden about 12:30. You can return to the Botanic Gardens after lunch for more shooting if you wish. Since much of the garden is indoors, the weather should not be a factor.
Bring your close up or macro lenses and have fun.
