We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of John Quigley, a cherished NVPS member of 20 years, who died on April 15 from complications of pulmonary fibrosis.

John’s passion for photography and his dedication to NVPS shone through his many contributions. He served as Exhibits Manager, was a representative to Nature Visions, and for the past four years, he meticulously managed several of the club’s online galleries.

A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, John lived a life of service. He was a dedicated public servant with the GSA and, before that, served his country overseas as a captain in the Air Force. Even in retirement, John’s spirit of generosity continued, as he volunteered with a local organization supporting individuals with brain injuries. His love for animals also led him to lend his photography talents to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, capturing heartwarming images to aid pet adoptions. John leaves behind his beloved wife, Joan; two sons; a daughter-in-law; and two granddaughters. He will be profoundly missed by his loving family, his photography community, and the many friends he made through his diverse interests.
