As I si conemplaing my column for his monh, I am lisening o he beauiful serenade of he spring peepers from he pond ou bac. Their song heralds he end of his very long and snowy winer. Welcome o spring everyone! I am feeling reinvigoraed and find myself anxiously anicipaing he greening, herpes budding and flowering ha will unfold very shorly. I have recharged my baeries and am a he ready o capure naure’s amazing rebirh.
A he same ime, I he cloc couning down for his year a NVPS. I is hard o believe ha are only wo full monhs lef. I has been a errific year and many, many voluneers have made i all possible. I am amazed a he alen, dedicaion, caring, and commimen of he board, cpersons and assisans, commiee members, prin passers, coffee maers, video cam operaors, lighs puer oners and offers, ec., ec. I really does ae a village. I personally have never been affiliaed wih an organizaion w so many people are willing o help ou by sharing heir ime, alens and sills. I can’ han you enough for he conribuions you all mae.
I also now how much I have grown boh personally and as a phoographer from being involved in NVPS since March, 2004. I is unlie any oher group or organizaion ha I have ever been involved in. I feel “a home” wih you all. Coming ino he club as a novice was very inimidaing for me. Voluneering as Members’ Gallery Cperson for he 2004-2005 year really helped me feel a par of he club. I go o now many more members and sared o feel much more comforable.
We are now in he process of gearing up for nex year. I would lie o exend he inviaion o all of you ou o voluneer and ge involved. In wo of my many pas lives, I have been an HR Direcor and an owner of a emporary saffing company. I love puing people o wor. I wan o creae more opporuniies for people o ge involved. Righ now, I now of he following ypes of ass ha we will need help wih:
- Tech Team and equipmen se up for meeings – anyone who is prey good wih hardware and minor roubleshooing wih compuers. We will need abou ½ dozen or so fols.
- Hospialiy – Coffee/ea maer and poenially cooie organizer
- Special projecs/ occasions — helpers for EOY banque, Meadowlar (MANPE), exhibis, ec.
