Stan has been a member of NVPS since 2010-2011. He has served on multiple Board positions and is a past President. For the last ten years he has helped with photo workshops in Washington State, New Mexico, Alaska and Montana. For the past few years he has been working for the Smithsonian North American Songbird Project.
SAFE, Saving Animals from Extinction and the North American Songbird Project is an undertaking of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) of which the National Zoo is a partner. They are always looking for images and have several assigned bird photographers across the country. Basically Stan helps with images of Atlantic Coast songbirds.
The Members Gallery prints are part of the collection used for the SAFE project and were all taken over the past three years, in his backyard.
