Stan has been a member of NVPS since 2010-2011. He has served on multiple Board positions and is a past President. For the last ten years he has helped with photo workshops in Washington State, New Mexico, Alaska and Montana. He has also contributed to the Smithsonian North American Songbird project.
After 30 years of film photography, Stan jumped into the digital world in 2007. This past summer the company whose image storage system he relied upon for ten years and that housed over 800,000 images, went bankrupt. He had a dead box of images. This lead to relearning the new world of image storage. It was at about this same time that Jim asked Stan to present at E&T. It seemed that the topic of image storage and security had not come up at NVPS. While we all pay close attention to any new camera, lens and processing technology, how we protect our art perhaps gets less consideration.
