Thank you to those who participated in the NVPS Member Survey! The survey will remain open until January 31st, so there is still time as of the publication of this issue of Fotofax to complete it if you have not already. The data and feedback collected will be invaluable to our Board Members and Volunteers in planning future programs, E&T and other activities tailored to the interests and needs of our club members. We will be making the results available to you in the near future.

On February 1st, Roy Sewall, long-time friend of NVPS, explores in his presentation various types of Visual Weight, from the size of an object to the impact of a photo’s balance. For E&T on February 8th, we will have our first of two interim Portfolio Project reviews. Thank you Ginger Werz-Petricka, Willa Siegel and Brenda Wilson for your dedication to this valuable program!

The field trip on February 12th will be to National Cathedral. The National Cathedral recently reopened and is selling advanced tickets with limited availability. The full details of the field trip will be announced soon on the NVPS website.

On February 15th we have an open themed competition with Robert Rodriquez, Jr. judging. Robert is a landscape photographer, author, and educator.

For Member’s Gallery on February 22nd, David Crooks will present “Huntley Meadows Park – You Never Know What You Will See”” and Kevin Linde will be sharing “A Family Vacation in South Africa”. The evening will end with a group of NVPS members presenting Member’s Forum, “Photographing Enchantment: Bosque del Apache and White Sands National Park.”

To learn more about these programs and events visit the NVPS Events Calendar on our website.

Finally, especially given the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we will continue to meet by Zoom for everyone’s safety. When there are any updates on holding hybrid meetings at the firehouse, with some members meeting by Zoom, you will be notified.

Keep those shutters clicking and stay well!

Judy
