The fear of missing a prized image because a particular camera\, lens\, or even a tripod was left behind lingers in the back of our minds.  \n\n\n\nBut bringing too much stuff creates its own issues. Dragging large\, unwieldy luggage through airport terminals\, loading it in and out of shuttles\, and even getting it all from the curb to the hotel room can require herculean patience. \n\n\n\nThere is a middle ground.
