We will recognize our volunteers and board members who worked so hard to deliver a stellar year of activities and learning. We will reminisce over field trips\, members galleries and forums\, education and training activities and programs. We will recognize members’ print and digital winning images from our monthly competitions and hold our Awards Ceremony for our End of Year Competition winners!We will also welcome and greet our 2025-2026 elected and appointed Board Members. \n\n\n\nWhen:  Friday\, June 6\, 2025\, from 6:00 to 9::00 PM             Social hour: 6:00-7:00 PM                 Hors de oeuvres\, soft drinks\,                 water and iced tea. SUMMARY:Field Trip:  Upperville Colt & Horse Show & Lunch at Stan’s
DESCRIPTION:Photo by Rena Schild\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis event is so much fun that we’re making it a club tradition!  Please join us in the beautiful Virginia countryside for the Upperville Colt & Horse Show.  Established in 1853\, it is the oldest horse show in America.  There are multiple areas of competition with beautiful horses and riders of all ages. In addition to the main attraction there are artisans and other vendors and great people-watching.  And on Sunday there will be a car show with beautifully maintained antique and muscle cars.  There is pretty much something for everyone to photograph\, and parking and admission are free! \n\n\n\nPhoto by Rena Schild\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMore information about the show can be found here: https://www.upperville.com \n\n\n\nAnd after the show Stan Bysshe has generously invited us for lunch and socializing at his home in Marshall\, VA.  He will also welcome club members who would like to attend the lunch without going to the horse show.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen:Saturday\, June 7\, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. –12:30 p.m.(horse show) and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (lunch). (The horse show starts at 7:30 a.m. and generally goes until late in the afternoon\, so feel free to arrive early. \n\n\n\nRSVP: \n\n\n\nKindly email nvps-field-trips@googlegroups.com by June 4\, 2025 if you plan to join us for lunch at Stan’s house\, and let us know how many people are in your party.  This is to give Stan a rough idea of how many guests he can expect.  \n\n\n\nWhere: \n\n\n\nUpperville Colt & Horse Show \n\n\n\n8300 John S. Mosby Highway \n\n\n\nUpperville\, VA \n\n\n\nParking is at the far end of the showgrounds.  See the map below for the parking marked as “General Admission.” There should be law enforcement on the street to direct you if needed.  We will meet near Gate 2 (also marked on the map). \n\n\n\nEquipment and Notes: \n\n\n\nYou will be shooting subjects both near and far\, so either a long-range lens (28-300\, for example) or two lenses (24-70 and 70-200\, or ideally 300mm+\, for example) would serve you well. \n\n\n\n*No flash photography is permitted \n\n\n\nIt may be hot and sunny\, so bring water and sun protection \n\n\n\nThere are porta-potties throughout the showgrounds. \n\n\n\nHere is a map of the showgrounds: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPhoto by Rena Schild\n\n\n\n]
