Mixing things up a bit, our regular Education and Training meeting on October 8 will be an in-person, “Bring Your Camera and Prints” meeting at the firehouse. Let’s do shots!
Now that you have printed your best images for competition, we will start with a 10-minute presentation on matting by Bob and Willa Friedman. After that, it is all hands-on (deck)! We will have mat cutters, so bring your pints and mat board and get those prints matted and ready for competition.
We will also have several stations set up to encourage you to try something different with your camera, including bringing out the texture in common items (e.g., fossils, corks, fabrics, and shells) and photographing water in motion. If you have something that you think others in the club might enjoy photographing, please bring it! We will have lights, but bring your flash too, as it may come in handy.
Notes:
During the 5th Tuesday Education and Training meeting on October 29, Stan Bysshe will offer thoughts on selecting and processing images that you are considering for entry in competitions and illustrate those ideas by working on some anonymous images submitted by club members. If you have an image that you would like Stan to anonymously review, please send a RAW out-of-the camera file no later than October 1. A separate email with instructions will be sent to members. Note that he might not be able to get to all the submitted images.
