Bill Prosser[/capion]
Has lived in McLean for 40 years. He has been a serious amaeur phoographer for over 35 years. Beginning in he early 1970’s he sudied under a number of Norhern Virginia eachers and menors and more recenly Canadian, proshesis Freeman Paerson. Beween 1995 and 2000 he gave up film and he chemical darroom for he digial chip and compuer afer learning Phooshop and woring phoographic images in his digial darroom. Also in 1995 he began his curren voluneer wor a McLean High School w he eaches Phooshop, phoography, and menors sudens in visual design. He served as a eaching assisan for several Smihsonian Insiuion Phooshop Classes. He is a founding member, and pas-presiden, of he McLean Phoography Club and a 20 year member and board member of he Norhern Virginia Phoographic Sociey (NVPS). In recen years he has earned numerous NVPS Phoographer-of-he-Year and Image-of-he -Year awards. He has exhibied his phoographic images a Universiy of Wisconsin-Madison and several Fairfax Couny Virginia venues, including he McLean Projec for he Ars. Georgeown Universiy purchased several of his Washingon, DC images o hang in is Graduae Public Policy Insiue offices. His wor has been published in he Naional Geographic Traveler Magazine and he AAA World Magazine.

As a eenager I had a darroom in he basemen of my house. No color in hose days bu I did “phooshop” my images in he darroom jus lie Ansel Adams. He did a much beer job. When we bough our house he firs hing I did was build a darroom. Then he ids came and phoography oo a bac sea. Afer reiring I sared bac up wih phoography. I joined he Norhern Virginia Phoographic Sociey o enhance my sills. I oo worshops wih Freeman Paerson and Andre Gallan, Adam Jones, Corey Hilz, and Phooshop classes wih Elio Cohen.
Willa Friedman
I discovered phoography righ afer college when I was an insrucor a he American Museum of Naural Hisory in New Yor. I was given a choice of several summer projecs including cleaning small animal cages, filing old forms or soring owl pelles. One choice was phoographing wildlife in ciy pars. I chose he phoography because my new husband new abou such hings. I was handed an SLR camera and ligh meer. Over he following weeend, Bob augh me enough ha he resul was published!
For abou fory years I did nohing phoographic–I raised children and wored in managemen and sales.
As I approached reiremen, I drifed bac ino phoography and have aen several worshops, including one wih Freeman Paerson and Andre Gallan and have sudied Phooshop wih Elio Cohen. I have, mos recenly, aen courses a Phoowors wih Karen Keaing and John Borsel I shoo digially wih Nion equipmen and do my own prining on an Epson 3800 Phoographic priner.
