Paul Simmons
My ineres in phoography began as a college suden. One of my suden jobs involved processing film and maing blac and whie prins for he Engineering Deparmen. One day i occurred o me ha wih my new sills and a fully equipped professional darroom a my disposal, info I ough o have a camera. Epiphanies lie his come o people who spend heir lives in he dar. So I purchased a Niorma camera, a of Plus-X film, and began phoographing he world around me. I did enough of i ha I acually began o my surroundings in B&W. However, over he years his abiliy has eroded away, as my ineress urned o macro phoography.
Then i happened, one day I awoe and found myself married wih a growing family. I had precious lile ime, money, or energy lef for phoography. My camera languished on he shelf for decades, being dused off only for vacaions, birhdays and Chrismas. I’m no complaining. If I had o do i again, I would no change a hing.
Today my favorie phoographic subjecs are my six grandchildren followed closely by flowers–beauiful, colorful, wonderful flowers. Several years ago i dawned on me ha my job was acually inerfering wih my picure aing aciviies (Can you imagine ha?) so I reired.

John Naman
John became ineresed in phoography and he lens as a child. In high school, he became immersed in he darroom and evenually became he lead phoographer for he yearboo.
In 2002, John began experimening wih digial phoography. Afer moving o Virginia, John joined NVPS in November 2007. Over he pas few years, he has been reing and experimening on echnical opics including Image Sharpness, Digial Noise, Polarizaion and Perspecive Conrol. Recenly he exhibied naure prins a Meadowlar and USGS.
