Elderhostel Photography Program
A wonderful photography program sponsored by Elderhostel takes place for two weeks each summer at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park in Glen Arbor, Michigan. The program is $1,107 per person including room & board for two weeks (Sunday through to the 2nd Friday). The program leaders are the best and will get you to top notch locations day in and day out.
If you are of a certain age and thus eligible for Elderhostel I can recommend this program highly. It provides a diverse range of photo ops in a beautiful location. Read more about it at - http://www.elderhostel.org/programs/programdetail.asp?RowId=1%2BLY%2B142
If you go to my website and look at the galleries for -
June 2005 - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/jun_05_pad - and check entries for 6/11 through 6/26
June 2006 - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/jun_06_pad - and check entries for 6/11 through 6/29
you'll get an idea of the wide range of subjects that are available - water, forests, wetlands, insects and other critters, wild flowers including beautiful orchids, old farms and other architectural features (including my 2005-6 NVPS B&W print of the year), soaring 500 foot high sand dunes. All of this and almost insect free (but plenty of poison ivy). Sunrise/set shoots everyday with frequent breakfasts "in the field". The park is about 5 miles by 40? miles running along the edge of Lake Michigan. The Elderhostel accommodations are centrally located so nothing is too far away.
