March 16th, 2010 - Competition with Judge Ellis Rosenberg - Northern Virginia Photographic Society

On Tuesday March 16th, 2010, we will hold our seventh competition for the 2009/10 club year. There is no specific theme for the March Competition.

Ellis Rosenberg

Ellis has been an amateur photographer for over 40 years and thoroughly enjoys the photographic art form. He was introduced to the exciting world of local photo clubs at the 2005 Meadowlark Nature Photo Expo and has been an avid supporter ever since. He is currently serving as Chair of the Reston Photographic Society (RPS), and as a board member of The League of Reston Artists (LRA) which includes the RPS. He also actively serves on the board of the former Meadowlark Nature Photo Expo. Ellis has served in these positions for the last four years and they have provided him with an excellent exposure in the area of judging photography.

His work has been exhibited locally on a competitive basis. He has won numerous awards, and has been juried into RPS exhibits, Meadowlark Nature Photo Expos, The Lorton Workhouse, The Herndon Arts Center and other venues.

Ellis is a graduate of the Joe Miller Seminar on Judging. Ellis says that Joe is the reason he got interested in the judging aspect of photography and he considers him a mentor. Ellis has combined the knowledge gained from this seminar, together with his experience, in an effort to be competent judge while providing enjoyable learning experience for all.

3: Take a left at the first light "Fashion Square" (Tiffany's will be on the left and Tyson's

Corner Shopping Center will be on the right) and an immediate left onto service road in

front of Tiffany's, take your first right into Chili's parking lot.
