On Tuesday February 16th, 2010, we will hold our sixth competition for the 2009/10 club year with Shannon Ayres as our judge. There is no specific theme for the February Competition. 

Shannon Ayres was born in Chicopee, MA, but was raised in Homestead, FL, then a small agricultural town just north of the Florida Keys.  Shannon's early love of photography was influenced by copies of old LIFE magazines his parents kept around the house from the 1960s.  This interest informs his current work which explores documentary not for societal change, but for personal discovery.  Now living in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.,  Shannon is an instructor at the Smithsonian Institution, Maine Media Workshops and the Academy of Art University, where he received his MFA in 2007. He lives in Reston with his wife, Amy, and daughters Caroline and Emma.

1: Take the VA-7 W/LEESBURG PIKE exit number 47B-A toward TYSONS CORNER

2: Merge onto LEESBURG PIKE/VA-7 W toward TYSONS CORNER and move to left lane 

   You will see Chili's almost immediately on the left. 

3: Take a left at the first light "Fashion Square" (Tiffany's will be on the left and Tyson's

   Corner Shopping Center will be on the right) and an immediate left onto service road in

   front of Tiffany's, take your first right into Chili's parking lot.
