2010-2011 NVPS Competitions - Northern Virginia Photographic Society

September and competitions are coming up quickly. Just a reminder that the new categories and classes that the membership approved are as follows:

1. Restricted Color Prints

2. Monochrome Prints

3. Novice Unrestricted Color Prints

4. Advanced Unrestricted Color prints

5. Restricted Images Digitally Projected

6. Novice Unrestricted Images Digitally Projected

7. Advanced Unrestricted Images Digitally Projected

Several members have suggested that we change the order of competition. i.e. judging digital first and then prints. We think that this is a good idea, so on several competition nights we will reverse the order. We will certainly announce this prior to the meeting night. If you do submit prints, we expect you to stay to the end to take your prints home.

The dictionary definition of novice is: a person new to and inexperienced in a job or situation. If this does not describe your experience in photography, please move up to the advanced class. Let's be fair to newcomers to photography.
