2009 - 2010 Board Election Results - Northern Virginia Photographic Society

NVPS Election Results

On May 5th, 2009 NVPS held its annual election of officers. The current Secretary and History Willa Friedman confirmed that we established a quorum which is 15% of the paying membership according to the current By-Laws of NVPS. As the Chairman of the Nominating committee, I called a voice vote since the slate was running unopposed. The board was elected unanimously by the membership present.

The elected board for the 2009 - 2010 membership year are:

President: Sandi Croan
VP Programs: Mary O'Neil
Co-VP Competition: Gerry Abbott
Co-VP Competition: Brian Payne
Treasurer: Fred Chitty
Secretary/Historian: Willa Friedman

The elected board will assume their elected roles at the conclusion of the annual end of year banquet on Friday June 5th. The appointed board was introduced during the banquet, they are:

Newsletter Editor - Sam Schaen
Workshops Education & Training Coordinators - Ed Ruggiero & Melanie Martz
Digital Competition - Vivian Luu
Field Trips Coordinator - Marilyn Gaizband
Exhibits Coordinator - John Quigley
Forum Coordinator - Anna Gomez
Membership Coordinator - Gayle Dennis
Website Manager - Scott Musson
Equipment Manager - John Naman
Meeting Facilities & EOY Coordinator - Andy Klein
Member's Gallery Coordinator - Georgette Grossman
PSA Representative - Matt Schmidt
NVACC Representative (acting) - Sam Schaen
Meadowlark Representative - Trinka Reddie, Yulan Guo & Angelina Raptakis
Database Manager - Bob Friedman

Additional individuals will be recruited to support various board members such as Equipment Management, Membership & Field Trips ( thank you to Tuan Pham & Pamela Brown who have agreed so far, but we need others). If you would like to assist the board during the coming year, please contact Sandi Croan.

Congratulations and thanks to the incoming board for their willingness to volunteer their time and efforts to supporting this excellent organization. Also special thanks to the outgoing board for their dedication and efforts over the past year. It was another wonderful year at NVPS, and we certainly could have not done it without our elected board members time and effort.

I would like to extend as special thanks to two long time board members Luella Murri & Tom Hady for years of dedication to NVPS. Both of them have served many boards and improved the experience of NVPS for countless individuals sharing their time and expertise. NVPS had been a better place thanks to both Luella & Tom.
