Field Trips
May 2nd, 2009 - Field Trip: G. Richard Thompson WMA and Sky Meadows St Park
Date: Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 Departure Time: 6:30 a.m. (car pooling from Dunn Loring) Time: 7:30 a.m. Until 11:00 a.m. Join us in photographing the spring wildflowers, landscapes and wildlife at the G. Richard Thompson WMA and Sky Meadows State Park. These two parks contain woodlands and fields within a large area of unspoiled and protected countryside. The WMA is believed to have Northern America's largest trillium stand which should be in bloom for our field trip. The parks are located about 50 miles west of the Capital Beltway.
